Project Literacy's training courses and educator guides are aligned
to unit standards and fully incorporate all critical cross-field outcomes.
This means that participants can achieve credits through the National
Qualifications Framework (NQF) as Project Literacy is accredited by
the ETDQA to deliver these courses and has registered assessors in
place to assess participants. Project Literacy's accreditation number
is ETDP 0348.
Project Literacy employs an outcomes-based methodology for all the
courses it trains. Conducted through interactive groups and using
a problem solving approach, training events draw on the wealth of
experience and practical knowledge that participants bring with them.
This methodology encourages them to use the same approach when they
interact with adult learners.
With over 33 years experience as a training organization, Project
Literacy presently provides training in over 35 different courses,
ranging from ABET Educator training to higher level courses like Assessor,
Moderator and Mentor courses. In terms of their scope, the organization
also offers short workshops on topics such as HIV/AIDs as well as
full qualifications that can take up to two years to complete. A Training
Course Catalogue is available on this website.
