Basic Child Care

Part of our Basic Skills Series – covers physical, emotional, cognitive and social developmental needs of pre-school children and how the care giver can develop these. Ideal for primary care givers with lower literacy levels and an excellent addition to Family Literacy programmes such as our Run Home to Read programme. Positive People: Managing HIV/AIDS in the workplace and community

A comprehensive and up to date HIV/AIDS Awareness programme. The delivery mode and time frames can be adapted and it can be customized depending on the target audience.

A comprehensive but modular Financial Education programme that is flexible and can be adapted according to need. This course is also suitable for higher level employees and can be used beyond the AET band.

 
       

Pig Farming

Introduction to pig farming for small-scale farmers living on and existing of the land wishing to beat poverty through agricultural self-empowerment and entrepreneurship. This can be an added value component to the Seeds and Fields of Learning programmes.

Talking to Tourists

AET 2

The course is designed for the small-scale tour operator and people who are directly and indirectly in contact with tourists, and are required to communicate to these tourists in English. It also develops the entrepreneurial skills in the field of hospitality and tourism.

 
       

Computers at Work

AET3 or 4

This unit standards based course serves as an entry level course to the world of computers. It covers all introductory requirements, as well as beginner level word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail and internet. It is unique in that it is accessible for people with an AET level 3 language ability.

Project Literacy is able to offer various other fit for purpose programmes such Business English, workshops on small business budgeting and entry level ICT. We also partner with organisations to provide added value components to standard AET programmes, such as portable skills (baking, sewing etc).

 

Accreditation and Credentials

Project Literacy is fully accredited by the ETDP SETA ETQA, accreditation number ETDP0348.

We have Adult Education and Training programme approval from Umalusi whereby we were recently granted a full 7-year extension. We’re also accredited to offer Foundational Learning
